Tomorrow I’m flying to Laos for a destination wedding in Luang Prabang. I haven’t been there for a few years, so I’m pretty excited. Great food + local colour + great light = all I really want for a destination wedding, and Luang Prabang has them all in spades. Sure, there’s the odd busload of French tourists snapping pictures of the monks like they’re in a human zoo, but if you avoid that, it’s a wonderful place to walk around and lose yourself for a few days. Which is what I plan to do.

The last time I was in Laos was for a two-week exploratory motorcycle trip down the old Ho Chi Minh Trail. One of the most fun things I’ve ever done. Jungle. Bombs. Bia Lao. Motorcycles.
