Laos. Small country, landlocked, not much going on. Why would you have your wedding there? Because Laos is secretly pretty amazing. Lovely people, great food, golden light. Especially the magical town of Luang Prabang, which is sneakily my favorite location for a destination wedding in Southeast Asia.
LUANG PRABANG WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Luang Prabang is an old French hill station that would scream romance if it could be bothered. Instead, it maybe just languidly sighs romance between snacks. Beautiful French mansions, picturesque alleyways, cafes with espressos and croissants, all sitting high above the banks of the mighty Mekong River. It’s truly a gem.
There are dozens of incredible boutique hotels in the old town, perfect for hosting a wedding ceremony. And there’s a lot of activities for your guests if people want to spend a few days, or even a week: visit the elephant rehabilitation camp, swim in cascading waterfalls in the jungle, take a sunset cruise down the Mekong, even go bowling with some new found Laotian friends!
